“Excellent article by Gilad Atzmon. Readers may also be interested in Mehdi Hasan’s article to the New Statesman entitled “What role did Israel play in the run-up top the Iraq War?” Of distinct relevance, I have been told by a former very senior defence insider that the Israelis were involved, together with the UK and US, in the bombing of Iraq during the Sanctions period (1990-2003). Evidence also points to Israeli involvement in post-invasion Iraq War atrocities.

What the Chilcot Inquiry will almost certainly not consider is the carnage caused by Sanctions and Occupation in Iraq (an estimated 4.4 million violent and non-violent avoidable deaths, 1990-2010) that now approaches the magnitude of the WW2 Jewish Holocaust (5-6 million dead, with 1 in 6 dying from deprivation according to Chilcot Inquiry member Sir Martin Gilbert in his book “Atlas of the Holocaust”).

According to the 2006 Revision UN Population Division data, medical literature data, and other authoritative sources, the Iraqi Holocaust has been associated with 1.1 million post-invasion non-violent avoidable deaths; 1.4 million violent post-invasion deaths; and 0.9 million post-invasion under-5 infant deaths (90% avoidable and due to gross US Coalition violation of the Geneva Convention). In addition, avoidable deaths under Sanctions (1990-2003) totalled 1.7 million, violent deaths in the Gulf War totalled 0.2 million and under-5 infant deaths under Sanctions totalled 1.2 million. Iraqi refugees (both inside and outside Iraq) total 5-6 million (see the “Iraqi Holocaust, Iraqi Genocide” website: http://sites.google.com/site/iraqiholocaustiraqigenocide/ ).

It is most unlikely that Blair et al., the Zionist Israel Lobby or the Apartheid Israelis will be held responsible for UK involvement in the carnage of the Iraq War by the Chilcot Inquiry. Zionist Sir Martin Gilbert deserves credit for being a rare UK historian who actually mentions the carnage of the WW2 Bengali Holocaust (6-7 million killed in the 1943-1945 Bengal Famine according to the latest medical historian analysis; non-scientist Sir Martin Gilbert says 1.5 million), but he makes no mention of this huge but “forgotten” atrocity in 2 key books on Churchill (the Ruler responsible) namely “In Search of Churchill” (Harper & Collins, London, 1994) and “Churchill. A Life”( Heinemann, London, 1991).
