The US Torture Empire

US Torture

The recently censured short version of the US Senate's "Torture Report" on the criminal acts of the George W. Bush administration is a document that whitewashes the United States of the criminal behavior of its leadership in international affairs.

It shows further that the US Empire cares a damp about international law and treaties when it comes to the so-called "national security interests" of the United States. Might makes right; this saying might work for some time, but not all the time. The responsibility is discharged to subordinates.

The US government has a problem of credibility, domestically and internationally. "The rule of law", one of many America's famous self-delusions, is forced down the throat from infants to elderly, but the political leadership gets away with political mass-murder and violations of international law.

The US Empire pursues a highly criminal policy, which this report shows and WikiLeaks has demonstrated years ago. Whether Bush or Obama sits in the White House makes no difference. The US Empire follows its own rules, which every president has to comply with. We have to look forward not backwards, said President Obama shortly after he took office. This phrase was like a pardon to all political criminals in the Bush administration from top to bottom.

If the US Empire wants to regain credibility, it must not only indict the small fries but the big shots, too. George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and all the other members of the neoconservative gang must be charged with twisting the law and starting illegal wars, before the US Empire goes after the small fries, who just followed orders that the VIPs designed for them.

Also those private companies, to whom torture was outsourced, and which made a fortune out of maltreatment of innocent people have to be brought to justice. The prisoners in Champ Delta have to be released and Bush and his cronies must be looked up instead for the same period of time, water boarding included.

The nations of the world should dissociate from the United States. This "indispensible" nation is rotten to the bone. Nobody should listen to the political jabberwocky of US politicians and its warmongering Senators.

Despite the big fuss the international media is making, this report would lead to nothing. It will be discussed to death. This report distracts from the real perpetrators. It is of the same caliber as "The 9/11 Commission Report", which obfuscated more than it revealed. This US Empire is dispensable for the rest of the word.
